Job Description

Position Overview:

We are partnering with a leading organization in the aerospace sector, currently seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their dynamic team. This position offers the chance to contribute to the design and development of advanced aerospace systems. The role involves taking part in early-phase vehicle design, solving complex mechanical challenges, and defining core system architectures. As a key team member, you’ll work closely with senior leadership to bring innovative solutions to life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and refine mechanical systems to ensure precise and reliable landing of next-generation aerospace systems.
  • Lead the development of key mechanisms, including those for parachute deployment, actuation controls, and drop test platforms.
  • Oversee the testing of landing and recovery systems, including conducting drop tests to ensure high-performance standards.
  • Perform rigorous qualification of mechanical systems through a variety of environmental tests, including vibration, shock, and thermal assessments.
Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of practical experience in mechanical system design and development.
  • Expertise in mechanical design, particularly in high-load environments, complex mechanisms, and packaging.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, with experience in tools like Siemens NX.
  • Familiarity with creating engineering drawings and applying GD&T (ASME Y14.5 standards).
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing mechanical design projects from inception through to completion.
  • Background in flight test programs and hardware qualification processes.
  • Knowledge of parachute systems and airborne technologies.
